description
The implantation strategy is simple: a building facing the park and the other facing Els Vergós Street. The urban planning fixes the volumes heights over park and street levels, but does not define the space between them.
This space offers an open space to the Hotel public dependencies and accesses to both buildings, and has become the heart of the complex as a flexible space. This, besides the little weight of the built mass in the surroundings suggests that a similar treatment of both buildings will reinforce its “unique” character.
There are two types of facades: The closed ones, which demand more noise insulation and less heat loss are made of metallic panels that include vertical openings for division in offices. On the other hand, the open ones that face the square, south sun and protected spaces are made of double skin and mud sun protection.
