description
As it will work as the final piece of the main urban axis of Sabadell, beside a very emblematic urban park, we had to be very careful in the disposition and precise in the volumetric relationships among the pieces that form it, taking into account both void and full volumes.
According to this, implantation regards to the distinction of public and private services and the construction in phases with no superpositions, allowing to build independendently the Cultural Centre, Trade exhibition hall and the Hotel- Congress- Comercial Centre.
The volumetric disposition sets the bigger volumes away from the neighbours in order to preserve visuals and “acquired” rights. As a result , the hotel protects the complex from west sunstroke, while roofs of Commercial Centre and Congress Hall face the south and east sunstroke, views to Park and urban axis. This strategy sets a series of intermediate spaces that cross from one street to the other.
